In this book, they break down theright way and wrong way to go about achieving an architectural look thatis balanced, properly proportional, elegant, and aesthetically pleasing.I suspect that if many of the affluent people who purchase the huge butstandard-looking "McMansions" that fill America's gated communities couldbe made aware of this far superior technique of timber framing andhybrid timber framing... they would flock in droves to Bert and Arrow TimberFraming, to instead select a home that is unique and possessing of truecharacter and architectural integrity. Anyone with even a passing interest in timber framing would do well to read this book. Arrow Timber Framing recently completed a project on our home near Battle Ground, Washington. Having been in the building business all of my life, and always having an interest in timber frame construction, I watched the progression of the project very closely.Through the years I have had some pretty good crews, but very few had the same dedication and pride in their craft and the company they represent, as every member of the Arrow Timber Framing crew have.Bert, Josh, and Matt did a great job of helping me through the design and building process. Their computer software is amazing, as you can see early on what the project will look like, and they are able to show you options in your design immediately.A lot of decisions about the design, timber size, truss makeup and things that make the project just right, both aesthetically and structurally, would have been easier and more comfortable for me, if I would have had the book in hand in the early stages.The text and the pictures are great. Bert and his crew at Arrow Timber Framing are simply the BEST!
This book and company will be used when I build my dream home! This book is awesome with great information, the pictures look amazing. I can tell these guys know what they're doing and I look forward to working with them in the future!
Reading the book, it's clear that the author REALLY CARES about timber frame design.
